11/22 Hawks vs Lightning

Recommended Posts

Thanks, Madrose.  Finally, another game!  This one should be a big measuring stick.  Hopefully, the Hawks will do to the Bolts what they did to the Pens.

Memories from 2015 Finals:

TT tied for first in goals with 2 (Saad the other)

DK's outstanding Connie performance

CC was also brilliant

Holding the explosive and high octane 'Bolts to just two goals in the final three games

Giving the 'Bolts their first three-game losing streak for their entire 2014-15 season

Holding Stamkos to one measly assist

Winning it all at home

Great memories indeed from an extremely close series.........however, that was then and this is now--->

Lightning - 32 points, Top Eastern Conf. team, fewest regulation losses in the league (only 3), highest scoring team in the league with #1 player in goals, #1 player in points, #1 PP, #9 PK

'Hawks - 22 points, only 5 WC teams with fewer points, #3 goalie in save percentage, #4 PK, #26 PP,  top scorer Kane is #43 in points

I really don't have a good bead on this one.... Close, competitive game,.... or a Lightning blow out?

I feel we are improving a little every game, come out like against the Pen's, Play strong every shift.  Then i see a possible win, I think we can play with anyone, if they put their hearts in it. Tnx, Madrose,, " GO HAWKS "

Big test tonight for the Hawks.  It all comes down to stopping the Bolts' big line - something most teams have not been able to do.  They've played 20 games so far and only twice have Stamkos and Kucherov been held without a point and only 5 games where neither scored a goal.  They will need a full 60 minute effort from everyone tonight.

Been waiting for this matchup, let’s see what our Hawks will bring to diner. Will we see a Hawks team from Saturday night? A Hawks team thats disengaged thinking about the beach in Tampa, or a Hawks team that flat out dont give a crap. Should be interesting, I am hoping for a big game from Saad and Toews tonight and another strong game from Forsling and Rutta.

Go Hawks Go!!!!

I'd like to see Saad get going.

a powerplay goal or 2 by him would tick a couple boxes that need ticking.

I said this before last game against Pitt, but I still feel this way:

The Hawks could actually continue to progress tonight and still lose.

Of course, I hope they win, but just sayin' that it might not be a loss that we should cry about if it should happen.

They're doing a wonderful bit of an NHL-wide moment of silence against cancer.  That's great.  My wife and I are close to three people who are currently losing their battles with that dreaded disease.  Is there anybody who doesn't know someone?
