Interesting line combos, question for you if you went. How crowded was it today? I'm thinking about going tomorrow and was just curious if it was a zoo and needed to get there somewhat early or if it was kind of low key, thanks.

My daughters and I got there around 11:50 for a noon start and it was pretty packed. Unfortunately, every other bleacher section was reserved for media. We were able to score bleacher seats at a far end. As this was the weekend and many kids were in attendance, I might guess tomorrow's crowds might be lighter, with less media as well. Either way, seats do open up, as does space on the glass below to take pics or to stand and watch.

So the lockout leaves a bad taste in fans' mouths and the Hawks intentionally 'block out' multiple sections of bleachers for the media prevent fans from having a seat. Great way to welcome the fans back.

It appears they are moving the event indoors due to the cold as they are allowing fans into the UC beginning at 4:30. I would guess player drop off would be on Madison so I would score a spot just inside gates 2 or 3.

Has anyone gone to practices at Johnny's? Are the "no autographs" rules actually enforced?

I used to go fairly often back when they practiced at The Edge, and I got plenty of autographs there. I'm curious if they have really changed the policy since moving to Johnny's.

Just from the pictures, it doesn't seem as "fan friendly" as The Edge was. Appreciate any insight. Thanks!

The "no autographs" thing is crap, they just have to say that because it's not guaranteed. Plenty of the guys stop on their way out to sign for the patient fans. As far as actual viewing goes, I've always preferred the ice level area as opposed to the seating in the balcony, it's a much better view in my opinion. It's pretty informal as far as the rules go, just don't go crazy, show some courtesy to your fellow fans, and you'll be fine.

Thanks! Good to know. And by "fan friendly" I didn't mean I was gonna go and be crazy and disrupt everything haha. I just meant that when they were at The Edge in Bensenville, you could sit all around the ice, like in a regular stadium. It was nice because on slower crowd days, you could basically have a section to yourself to sit wherever, and even grab some pucks that came through the netting.

Now, if only I could find a way out of work to attend one...

I'm gonna be in town next weekend, and I plan to attend a practice. Does anyone know where the best place to stand for autographs is? Is there like a back exit the guys take out of the arena?

If you're going on a weekend, forget about getting autographs.

I was planning on going to the Friday practice because I figured the Saturday one would be packed.
