To be clear; the new password was accepted and I was signed in with it. But when i signed out and came back it wouldn't work again.
  2. Message Board Issues/technical Problems

I went to the NHL site, made a new password, and it still doesn't work when I try to sign in here or at NHL. But I can sign in at the NHL site via Facebook and then come here. Yet another example of why hockey is the red-headed step child of team sports.

Perhaps the somewhat generous contract for Marcus Kruger (I think he's earned it) was offered partially with Shaw in mind. Kruger took a minimum deal for last year with a promise that he would be rewarded, now Shaw knows that Bowman keeps his promises. So perhaps Shaw takes a one year bridge this year for a payoff next year.
  4. Artem Anisimov

Replace Saad? He's got more goals than Patrick Sharp.
  5. Artem Anisimov

Well, seriously, I just want to say kudos to Stan. Most fans, asked before the off-season, would've considered losing Saad a disaster. But he managed to turn it into an improvement. It doesn't get any better than that.
  6. Artem Anisimov

Am I the only one who thinks, given the makeup of the team, and the needs of the team, that it worked out for the better having Anisimov in place of Saad? This is probably Stan's most impressive deal.
  7. Artem Anisimov

    Anisimov can finish.
  8. Artem Anisimov

I'd guess he's been on their radar for some time.

I'm surprised there's not already a thread for our number two center, so allow me to oblige. Granted, it's a very small sample size, but so far I'm impressed. It appears Stan may have pulled off a real coupe here; unable to pay Saad, he's acquired a comparable player at a need position and locked him up for a few years at a reasonable rate. And got a prospect to boot. Kudos!

I'd like somebody to try to defend the extreme censorship of ideas that goes on here. I acknowledge that the space is privately owned, and that ownership can do what they want. We have no rights here, and if we don't like it we can go away. But that does not make something, I'm not going to say 'right', but... good. I absolutely understand deleting porn pictures, swearing, name-calling, racist post or anything patently objectionable to society at large. But if we want to conjecture about, oh, I don't know... the legal status and disposition of one of the teams top 3 players (and, to be clear, i have posted next to nothing on the thread or the subject), well so the hell what? Everybody knows it's up in the air, nobody claims to know how it will play out. So we vent, we guess, we conjecture... what is the harm to anybody? Deleting it really just gives it more power than it actually has. I think it's small minded and petty. I don't need to say "feel free to delete this too", because of course if you want to you don't need my permission. Go Hawks!
  11. Stan As Gm

I stand corrected, thanks. So, if the Hawks offer him league minimum, what is his recourse? Arbitration? And if he wins more than the Hawks can pay, salary-cap wise, what happens then?
  12. Stan As Gm

As of today Stan has one month to clear some cap space and sign Marcus Kruger. Obviously Kruger's been promised something... no way he floats out there this long without some assurance that the Blackhawks are 100% committed to him. It will be interesting to see, if the Hawks cannot clear any significant space, how trusting 16 will be about being taken care of down the road.
  13. Stan As Gm

A pattern emerges: clearly Stan learned a lesson in the purge of 2011. He shed salary for prospects and picks, leaving a team poised to keep on winning a bit too thin in the bottom 6. Now, in the same situation, he is shedding salary for NHL viable players. I'm encouraged; I think the Hawks will be very competitive next year. As long as 19, 88, 2 and 7 are in their prime the window has to be considered open. The Hawks can't waste a season with this core.

Crow was really impressive. He was square to the puck all night. Some credit to our D, because he was rarely asked to move side to side. But still; a great performance in a huge game.
